Training your own assistance dog means you are in charge of the process from start to finish.
CURRENTLY ALL ASSISTANCE DOG TRAINING PROGRAMS ARE FULL :)
Although training your assistance dog is a cheaper alternative, it still requires a considerable investment of time and money.
Training your dog is time-consuming and hard work.
Many people have never owned a dog or trained one before. Training a dog in basic obedience requires commitment and work, so, as you can imagine, training an assistance dog is a much bigger commitment and a lot more work.
Your dog needs to be a family priority, and you need to be able to take it almost everywhere with you.
Consider your lifestyle and existing commitments carefully, and assess whether you believe you can manage this.
If the answer is YES, then we can help you out.
APPLICATION & PROCESSING FEE
The application processing fee for Assistance Dog programs is $100, and applications are typically processed within 30 days.
Please note that processing times may vary based on the volume of applications received. We kindly request that you refrain from emailing us about your application until 30 days have passed since its submission.

We will never sell any of your information to anyone else. We will not make any personal details available to anyone else unless directed by you or as required by law. Our website does not retain your information in any way. Your payment details are not stored. The only payment information that is stored is the method of payment used. Your filed information is only available to staff at Shadow Spirit Enterprises or to bodies as required by law. Your information is stored for the duration of the working life of your dog, your involvement with Shadow Spirit Enterprises and afterwards as required by law in Australia.

Assistance dog rules can vary from state to state, and some states have their legislation. However, Shadow Spirit Enterprises operates under the Disability Discrimination Act, a Federal Act covering the whole of Australia that overrides individual state legislation. Travelling between states does not require additional or further testing of you or your dog.
